The story so far

Today I finished off the last of my portraits and I have only one last architecture shot to go... If the plates turn out close to the digi and film proofs we should be in business. in most cases I have between 2 and 4 plates exposed... Now for the agonising part, I have chemistry on it's way from the states but it is taking its sweet time getting here.... anyways as usual I'll be cutting it fine but hey that the nature of the beast.

The problem with being involved in every stage of making an image is there are so many places to make mistakes, but the whole image is mine; from start to ends

Tintype process

I'm having a bit of hard luck with the tintype process and I'm beginning to understand what the early pioneers went through... The next step in the history of photography after the plate process was glass plates and printable negatives, I will in the next stage of my work produce a few one off 8x10 glass or perspex negatives to make contact prints with. I have been lucky enough to borrow a 8x10 camera from a friend of a friend so watch this space.

Today I picked up some Perspex, I intend to make more plate negatives and positives with it. It is easier and safer to cut than glass... Watch this space
